Wines Direct is an Irish family owned & operated wine importers. The wines they supply to us represent a 25-year labour of love. They are uncompromising in their mission to source independently made wines directly from growers around the world. When we first sat down with Gareth to chat about wine 3 years ago, the passion he & his family have for their work was immediately obvious. Gareth & his team have worked hard with us to bring a great selection of great wines from small independent wineries.
What do Wines direct do for us?
They go out of their way to avoid the boring, mass-produced wines! They do so by walking the ground of the world’s famous and not so famous wine regions and by directly sourcing from dedicated and fiercely independent winemakers. Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese
Award Winning, Tasty & Made in Wicklow! We are so proud to be using some exceptional cheeses in our dishes here at the Enniskerry Inn. Lovingly made here in the Garden County & hand delivered to us by Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese every Thursday. Our Deep fried Brie is the Fabulous Wicklow Blue. A Mild creamy blue veined Brie.
This exceptional cheese has claimed gold, silver and bronze awards & won Best Irish Cheese in the World, at the World Cheese Awards Dublin 2008.
Nicholas Lynch Ltd is a family run business that was founded by Nicholas Lynch in 1984 after he had decided to change from working on his brother John’s fishing boat, The Marita, to the processing and wholesale side of the fishing industry.
Today Nicholas Lynch Ltd is run by Nicholas and Niall who with their team have developed a very strong wholesale business as well as two retail shops which are regarded as some of the top in the country, both winning multiple awards within the sector. Nick’s Fish has always prided itself with it’s very strong focus on quality.
They use a “Hand Filleting” process with no filleting machines which has led the company to be widely established as experts in quality seafood processing. Our kitchen team here at The kitchen team here work closely with the Nicks fish team in sourcing our seafood. They provide fresh tasty fish delivered to our door & it is lovingly prepared by our chefs for you to enjoy.
Ocean Marine Seafood was founded in 1980 by George and Lee Rogerson 7 their family run wholesale business operates from our premises in Monkstown Farm, Dun Laoghaire.
Each day they source the freshest fish from all the major fishing ports around the coast such as Howth, Kilmore Quay, Donegal, Dunmore East and Killybeg. Ocean Marines commitment to quality and superior service distinguish them as one of the premier seafood purveyors in the Dublin area.
We are proud to serve two wonderful Wicklow beers here at The Enniskerry Inn, brewed in near by Newtown by The Wicklow Wolf Brewing Company. Wicklow Wolf has their own 10 acre hop farm located in Roundwood, co. Wicklow.
They grow their own hops overlooking the wildering Wicklow forests, mountains, lakes and with an eagle eyed view of the Irish Sea . The Wicklow Wolf Hop Farm is the first commercial hop farm in ireland in over 20 years.
Flemmings Butcher, Stepaside
Fleming’s Butchers was traditionally a wholesale business, supplying beef, lamb, pork & bacon to high-end restaurants & hotels. Michael quickly became aware of the growing appreciation of his meats by the general public & opened his first shop in 2006 in Stepaside, Dublin 18. Flemings are award-winning Butchers that are dedicated to quality & excellence. They are as passionate about providing the finest Irish meats for you as we are here at The Enniskerry Inn.
Micheal has spent a lot of time working with the best suppliers in his trade to make sure that every item he sells is from the best quality source available. Flemings understand the importance of provenance, & everything they provide us with is fully traceable back to farm.
Our Fruit & Vegetables
Nugent’s provide only the highest quality produce across the Leinster region. Their business is owned and managed by the Nugent family.
Located in Ballyboughal, North County Dublin, a region renowned for more than a century of expertise in the growing of fruit and vegetables. Many of there major suppliers are local growers. Potatoes are grown on neighbouring farms, cabbage is grown in Kinsealy and a grower in Lusk, Co. Dublin provides cauliflower and leeks. Nugents seek always to minimise the food miles incurred between their base in north Dublin to kitchens across Leinster.
Robinson Meats commenced trading in 1960 and since then they have gone from strength to strength. The company is now owned and run by Henry Farrell and his wife Catriona and they ensure that all their suppliers have been approved and this approval has been documented.
The “Emerald Isle’s” lush green grass, fed by the mild Irish climate, is the best possible food for cattle and it produces top quality meat. Their beef has a consistently high quality reputation with chefs and consumers. You can taste the difference. Robinson Meats has achieved the Emerald Standard in our most recent unannounced Audit from the E.I.Q.A. We were national finalist winners two years in a row.
